Job Title: Braid Stylist/Braider

Job Summary:

Starting Base Pay- $25.00/hour or Commission Split

A Braider is responsible for creating simple to intricate and stylish braided hairstyles for clients. They possess expertise in various braiding techniques and styles, catering to diverse hair textures and lengths. A Braider works closely with clients to understand their preferences and provide personalized braiding services, ensuring customer satisfaction. Additionally, they maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhere to safety and hygiene standards, and stay updated on latest trends in braiding techniques and haircare products.

Responsibilities:
1. Consult with clients to determine their braiding preferences, hair type, and desired style.
2. Perform various braiding techniques including but not limited to cornrows, box braids, twists, and intricate patterns.
3. Assess the condition of clients' hair and recommend suitable styles or treatments or products to improve its health and appearance.
4. Ensure client comfort throughout the braiding process, addressing any concerns or discomfort promptly.
5. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the work area, including sterilization of tools and equipment.
6. Stay updated on emerging trends and techniques in braiding through research, workshops, and training sessions.
7. Provide guidance and advice to clients on haircare practices, maintenance of braided hairstyles, and recommended products.
8. Manage appointment schedules efficiently, ensuring timely service delivery and client satisfaction.
9. Uphold professionalism and excellent customer service at all times, fostering positive relationships with clients.
10. Collaborate with other salon staff members to create a cohesive and supportive work environment.

Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Braider or hairstylist specializing in braiding techniques.
2. Proficiency in various braiding styles and techniques, with a keen eye for detail and creativity.
3. Knowledge of different hair types and textures, and their specific requirements for braiding.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to understand and fulfill clients' expectations.
5. Strong organizational and time management abilities, with a focus on efficiency and punctuality.
6. Commitment to maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards in the workplace.
7. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per client demand.
8. A positive attitude, passion for hairstyling, and dedication to continuous learning and improvement.

You do not have to be licensed to become a braider, however you must adhere to salon training guidelines regarding scalp and hair care and sanitation.
